Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese New Year everyone!
Chinese New Year or Lunar New Year is celebrated in many countries especially in China. This event is held to welcome the spring season, where people can grow crops. We can call that as a Spring Festival too. As far as I know most of the Chinese are Buddhist and they have prepared that since a week before the Chinese new year.Similar with the Muslim dating system, Chinese dating system was also based on the moon. Unlike Christmas, Chinese New Year has no fixed date. It changed every year, but usually it is held in January or February.
Before Chinese New Year we have to cut our hair and we can't sweep and mop the floor. The night before Chines New Year, we gather in the eldest family member's house and have a dinner there. We have to eat fish at the end in order to follow the tradition. In the Chines New Year itself, we meet i the same place and the adults in our family give money to their children and cousins who haven't got married yet.
In my country we also celebrate "Cap Go Meh". Cap Go Meh s a few week after Chinese New Year. There will be a parade in Cap Go Meh. People will carry the statue of their God in a big box and carry them around the city. The box is big and heavy, it have to be carried with 5 people or more. That tradition is believed to make their God happy.
