flood in my hometown

On Monday October 24,2016, some part of my hometown, Bandung, was flooded. The big flood happened to be close to my house. It was 12 at that time when heavy rain were pouring down. After the bell rang, I packed all my things and ready to go to my course. On Mondays we, DCP students,  go home at 2pm. My course starts at 3. My course place was not far from school. But, the flood made traffic jam. I didn't got to see the flood near my house because I was till studying when it happened.

Well, thanks to the flood, I came late to my course. I was happy though. But me being late to come to my course is not something that is unusual. i always late to come there. It took 1 hour for me to reach there from school. Can you imagine how bad the jam was? Most of my friends didn't come to the course because of the flood and traffic jam. Sorry, not most of them but ALL of them.

Now, back to the flood. As far as I know, the areas in Bandung which were flooded that day is Pasteur (in front of a mall called BTC), Setiabudi, and Pagarsih. There were several more streets that were flooded but some of them are not as bad as the ones I mentioned. I didn't know how bad or deep the flood in Setiabudi was, but there was an accident resulting 1 person dead.

My elementary teacher who own a shop on that BTC mall was posting pictures of the flood. The flood there (in BTC mall near my house) looked like a waterpark. By approximately 4 pm, the front of BTC Mall had no longer been flooded. I wonder where the water goes becase is it possible to make all the water be gone by 2 hours?  Well, yeah i don't know. It was 4.30 pm when my course was dismissed. Before I went home, I need to wait for my parents. The road was still jammed at that time. I reached my home at 6 pm that day.

Hey Everybody! I'm back
I am too busy enjoying my holiday and now I'm going to tell you about my journey to United Kingdom.

                    This holiday I had the chance to travel the home of red telephone boxes , United Kingdom. It took 15 hours for me to reach England, Manchester to be specific. It was worth it because I have always wanted to go to England since 2 years ago. I spent 12 days to explore all of the nations in UK. But, I could only visit their capital cities(except for England and Scotland of course).
                   The first day, I visited the Manchester United Stadium, Old Trafford, Manchester City Hall, and Manchester Cathedral.I don't really like football but I'm in love with this stadium! The stadium is huge and looks so elegant. I spent the night there. It's been a long day, I make my way directly to bed the second I arrived in my room. I left Manchester in the morning and make my way to Scotland, before I got there, I stopped in Liverpool and Gretna for a while. 

                  here's the picture of me in the stadium (i don't have to pic of the stadium itself haha) After taking a break in Gretna Green, i went to Glasgow and and stayed there for the night. The next day, I have to wake up early because I have to go to the port and the port is located 2 hours away from where I stay. I traveled to Belfast using ship. I'm staying there for a night and came back to Scotland using the same ship. The ship is pretty large. It can carry buses, trucks, and cars. In the ship there's a small casino and a little cinema.
               

         It was taken from the Sun Deck or Deck 10 of the ship. the wind is strong up there. So, only me, my sister, and my father go up there.

               I doesn't feel like writing so I'm gonna skip it until the most interesting part. I'll tell you about Edinburgh, York, Stratford-upon-Avon , Cardiff, Bath,  Stonehenge, and London.


               The first city that i found interesting is Edinburgh. Edinburgh is a beautiful place. I stayed there for 2 nights. My hotel in Edinburgh is a bit outside of the town and they're famous with golf. Then I only stopped in York for several hours only, but I found this city odd but interesting. Do you like Harry Potter? If you do, you'll know Diagon Alley. The place actually exists but it has a different name. The actual name's The Shambles. York is a city that's full of ghost. In this city they had a tour which starts every night. The tour's name is 'Ghost Trail'. They said that they will give you back your money if you didn't see any ghost! I'm lucky I didn't spend a night there.  Because I'm not staying in York, that means I have to go to another city. On that day  I slept in Leeds. The next day I'm stuck in the bus half of the day. I go on to the next city which was Stratford-upon-Avon,  the city where William Shakespeare and his wife was born.

            After visiting Shakespeare's birthplace i moved on to Bristol just the spent a night. The day after, I traveled 3 cities andin one day.  First, I moved from Bristol to Cardiff to see the Castle of Wales. Then, I moved to Bath. In Bath, I only visited the Great Roman Bath. After that, I moved to see Stonehenge. I don't know the name of the city but I know that Stonehenge is not located in Bath. It's getting late by the time I arrived in Stonehenge. So, I only got less than an hour to take pictures in Stonehenge and buy gifts. The last city is London. I stayed there for 3 days and I went back also from London.

           I'm lucky that i had the chance to see the changing guards in Buckingham Palace. The first day, I spent it to travel the old and the new London. I got to see Tower Bridge, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, London Eye, Picadilly Circus and Buckingham Palace.That day i got a free time for around 3 hours of shopping in Oxford street. Day 2, I went to Bicester Village the whole day {SHOPPING TIME YEAYYY!!!}. At last, I have to say goodbye to England by going to Harrods. Before going to Harrods, I went to look at the Big Ben and London Eye for one last time. After that, I went straight to London Heathrow Airport, preparing myself for the jetlag to hit me.

5 seconds of summer

                                 5 Seconds of Summer
       5 seconds of summers is a band come from Australia. The band started at 2011. The members are Luke R Hemmings, Calum T Hood, Michael G Clifford, and Ashton F Irwin. My favorite one is Calum. Michael, Calum and Luke used to go to the same school. In their band Luke is the vocalist and guitarist, Michael is the guitarist, Ashton is the drummer and Calum is the bassist. Luke is the one who has lipring, Calum is the one who has a black hair, Michael is the one who likes to change his hair color. They share the same management with One Direction. They are touring for their album now. Their latest album is Sounds Good Feels Good. Calum writes the most song. Ashton is the oldest member of the band. These are some of their songs : Jet Black Heart, Voodoo Doll, She looks So Perfect, She's Kinda Hot, and many other.

the cursed forest

THE CURSED FOREST

Once upon a time, there was a house near the cursed forest. In that house lived a family with 3 children. Every night , this children were told a story about the Witch who lived in the forest near their house. And every morning, before they went to school, their parent told them to not to go to the forest after school.

The Witch was trapped in that forest because of what she did hundred years ago. She played with her spell and killed many people. She was trapped in that forest because she made a potion to make herself stronger and end up being trapped inside that forest. she will be free if there is someone who enters that forest.

Years passed, the 3 children have grown bigger. They still remember about the cursed forest. They did not believe about the Witch and her curses, but they obeyed their parents. Sometimes, there were many children who played near their house. One night, there was a boy who entered that forest. The family didn't know until they heard the wolves howling. They saw some streaks of lightning and the forest suddenly shines. After they saw the forest shines, the 3 children believed that the Witch thing is true. Their parent told them if there is a howling sound, that means someone had entered that forest. They can't sleep well that night.They were scared that the Witch will be released.

A week had passed and nothing happened. They were relieved. They thought that the Witch has died. But, they were wrong. Strange things happened in that forest every night.

note: I post this story because the theme is free and I don't know what article should I post in this blog. While cleaning my room, I found this story. I wrote this story a year ago. So, I decided to post it.

descriptive writing; after school

A little after noon, when I hear the bell rings, I have packed all my things and ready to go home. The building is full with students talking and the seniors rushing to the toilet and go home. All of the stairways are attacked by the tired students. Small door near the stairway is surrounded by many students who are exiting and entering the lobby. After pushing my way to enter the lobby there is one more barrier I have to break trough. I have to pass the long queue of people waiting to use the phone.
After exiting the lobby I was meet by a bunch of people coming from another exit. The driveway is filled with motorcycles and drivers who are waiting to pick up students. They are standing side by side with some food carts. Up to this point, I have just got a little amount of sunlight. As I wait for my ride the is no way I can avoid the sun.
On my way home, I have to pass a busy road. There's always a traffic there. Buses fill both side of the road.There is a toll in the edge of the road. The traffic is always starts in the middle of the street, because there is a U-turn across. The traffic gets worse when it reaches the grocery store. There is an alley beside that grocery store. hat alley leads to my house. I feel relieved if I had entered the alley, I don't have to face sunlight anymore.

Easter is a holiday.This year Easter was celebrated on  Sunday,March 27. Easter is held 3 days after the Good Friday, where Jesus was Crucified. Easter reminds us about Jesus' resurrection. Jesus has died and rose again in the third day. He died in the cross to save us. He love us more than anything. That's why he gave his live and died for us. 
Easter also called 'Pascha'. Easter is also very similar with Passover. It is represented by Eggs and Bunnies and  represented for  a reason. Christians believed that the Eggs and Bunnies means renewed.

my school

SMPK1 is a good school, it’s pretty big and the best school in West Java. It has 3 programs such as Regular, Bilingual, and DCP. DCP uses English all time. In the tenth grade, the DCP students will receive the Cambridge Certificate. DCP has more English classes than the other program. Bilingual use both language, Bahasa Indonesia and English. Regular uses Bahasa Indonesia. There is only one class for DCP in each grade, 3-4 classes for Bilingual, and the rest five classes are for Regular. There are up to 30 students in each Regular classes but there are 20 students in DCP class. 

My school has a various choices of extracurricular. For sports lovers, our school have lots of choices such as soccer, basketball, table tennis, swimming and many other. Many girls choose make-up, cooking and modern dance. You can choose 1 extracurricular and you quit or change it until next year. There is an exception if the teachers ask you to join Math club, Science club or English club. You may have 2 extracurricular. You also can join many English, Math and Science competitions. Our school also has an organization called OSIS Efraim. They has their own extracurricular, leadership. Same rule applied if you join leadership. 

In my school, Saturday is holiday. Sometimes, teachers ask the students to join remedies on Saturday. Some of the students come to school to do their projects or to join extracurricular. We have 2 breaks on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and go home on the second break on Thursday and Friday. Every Friday, the seventh graders will join scouts. The eighth and ninth don’t have to join scout anymore.

cinderella

                                   Cinderella

Once upon a time lived a family with one daughter, named Cinderella. They lived happily, suddenly her mother felt sick and died. Then, her father decided to marry a widow with 2 daughters. She was an evil. She killed him only 2 months after their wedding.

Since then, Cinderella lived only with her stepmother and her stepsisters. Cinderella was trying to be kind to them. She offered her stepsisters to lived in her room, but her stepmother took the advantage of her kindness. Her stepmother asked her to sleep in the  warehouse. She also has to do all the job like cooking, washing the dishes, clothes, and mopping.

She did all of that until one day she met a woman older than her in the woods. The woman just moved from town. Few days later she tell Cinderella that the prince was ging to host a ball next week and anyone could come. She tell her to come and Cinderella tell her she would consider it.

Cinderella ask her stepmother if she could go to the ball but she didn’t say a word and quickly walks away. Cinderella take it as yes.In the evening her stepmother and stepsister went to buy a gown. Cinderella was left  in their house to do the chores.

Days pass, a week has gone. That day the ball was held. She asked her stepmother to make sure that she could come with them but her stepmother didn’t allow her. Her stepmother tell her that she didn’t has a good gown. Cinderella was sad and she run away to the woman’s house. The woman knew she didn’t have a gown and she offered her to wear her wedding gown. She came back untill the time for them to go to the ball after they left, she went there.

 She saw the prince while he was dancing with a princess from another kingdom.When the prince saw her, he asked for a dance. While they were dancing she introduce herself and tel her life story. He found her so interesting and tough. They didn’t realize that they have been talking to each other until 11.45 pm. Cinderella almost forget that she should come back home at midnight. So she say goodbye to the prince and ran away from the castle. The prince sort of liked her.

When she left, she ran to fast and she left her shoe. It’s just an ordinary shoe but the prince kept it in case that she would come back. After a few months she didn’t came back, he decided to search her. He finally found her after searching for 2 weeks. He invited her to come with him to the castle. After a few months, they got married and lived happily ever after.
